In this class you will play with different mediums to create dynamic and emotional photographs.
Understand the essential components of printing and the great options of fine-art photo papers available to you. We will review the essentials and then get to printing some samples. Course will be valuable to those who wish to print at home, or get the best results from a print lab.
As women, we are mothers, aunts, grandmothers, and more. In these roles, we often have the opportunity to shoot photos of children in our lives.
In this class we will work to loosen the barriers between you and your writing. Barriers like negative self-talk, uncertainty about how to dive in, and what to write about yourself. We will focus on ways to open up to the voice in you that has something to say – and we ALL have one of these.
The colors of pre-dawn change from minute to minute, grey to pinks to blues. At sunset and dusk they change again. Leanne will share her love of landscape photography and the nature of light during these magic hours. She will also share how to plan and scope a landscape for a photoshoot - how to make sure you are ready to capture the fleeting light as it appears. After a review of images, light, colors and technique Leanne will trek up the Westerbeke hill with to scout and plan a photoshoot.
You will learn the progress of natural light during early morning and late evening, and to prepare and scout for a photo shoot Hands on work will include scouting trip at West side of Westerbeke ranch - preparing for a sunrise. Bring to class your camera, tripod. Optional application of Photographer's Ephemeris installed on your smartphone.
Leanne has been shooting with a little film camera since middle school. She has recently moved to Montana where she captures early morning light in the big sky state. Leanne works as a commercial and fine art photographer in both Montana and her part-time home in Marin County, CA. She has participated in numerous group shows at The Image Flow, the O'Hanlon Center for the Arts, and Marin Open Studios, has been published in the Bay Area Where Guestbook and Edible Marin and Wine Country, and her fine art prints are included in private and corporate collections across the country. Leanne teaches a variety of classes in expressive photography: "The Language of Light for Photographers," "Still Life Photography," and "Motion Blur & Long Exposure for Expressive Images." At camp Leanne will lead a pre-dawn photo session, her favorite time of day.
