Find Your Visual Voice

With Laurie Klein

Who are you as a creative? What makes you unique? Your images communicate: they speak to you about your passions, metaphors, compositions, and most importantly your journeys—past, present, and future.
This workshop is designed to help photographers find and cultivate their own style. The emphasis will be on understanding your process. Your photographs are speaking. Can you hear them?
You will learn techniques to listen to your photographs and learn from them. You’ll learn to extend that learning to deepen your unique visual voice.

  • You will learn techniques to listen to your photographs and learn from them. You’ll learn to extend that learning to deepen your unique visual voice.

  • Hands-on work will include individually tailored assignments that strengthen your creative process as you work with your own photographs and with clippings from magazines.

  • Bring to class 15 of your photographic PRINTS; 4x6 or larger that represent your work. Then 40 images that are not yours clipped from magazines or printed from online images: 20 images you really like + 20 images you really don’t like. Don’t think too hard about this assignment, go with your emotional response. The more diversified the images the better.
